EVENT PULSE: ACTEMRA and the Biologics Market

Study Overview:

Event Pulse is a syndicated report series that evaluates the impact of market events on physician treatment practices.  These reports provide timely insights on how new products, data, and guidelines will affect current treatment algorithms, impact use of available therapies and change market dynamics.

We are leveraging our multi-faceted healthcare market research platform to conduct an in-depth analysis of physician’s current treatment behaviors in rheumatoid arthritis, and to predict how treatment decisions may change in the future as a result of ACTEMRA’s entry to the market.

REASONS TO PURCHASE

By combining our primary research and proprietary physician panel, we will help our clients answer these key business questions:

  • What is the current market share breakdown for each of the existing rheumatoid arthritis drugs? Which drugs will lose the most share as result of ACTEMRA’s entrance into the market?
  • Are rheumatologists aware of the ACTEMRA launch? What are the current perceptions of ACTEMRA?
  • What will be the short- and long-term impact of ACTEMRA? For which patients has it been prescribed, and which patient groups will likely receive the product in the future?
  • What has preliminary experience with ACTEMRA been like? How are patients responding to it?
  • What obstacles, if any, do rheumatologists foresee for uptake and use of ACTEMRA?
  • What promotional materials or sales representative visits, if any, have rheumatologists received for ACTEMRA? How are rheumatologists responding to these promotional efforts?
  • What are Managed Care Organization (MCO) Pharmacy Directors’ views regarding coverage for rheumatoid arthritis biologic drugs?
REPORT DETAILS
Methodology:
  • Targeted Internet Survey of 75 high-prescribing rheumatologists
  • 6 In-Depth Telephone Interviews with MCO Pharmacy Directors
  • Analysis of daily treatment decisions from a panel of 110 rheumatologists and 1900 primary care physicians, spanning 2005-2010. Analysis will include a breakdown of market share by diagnosis and by physician specialty, and an assessment of how these share levels may shift due to switching behavior to ACTEMRA.

Timing:

Report will be available February 24, 2010.

Clients purchasing this research can submit up to three (3) custom questions before February 4, 2010.
